Platform-wide architectural impact - the kind that ripple through every system (and every team) During my time at BlackRock as a Senior Software Engineer, I focused on platform-wide initiatives in the backend and frontend, including migrating a monolithic frontend application to a micro-frontend architecture and developing a centralized server-side pagination backend library. I was also deeply involved in implementing key business features such as executive summary reporting and fund order switch functionality. Additionally, I mentored junior developers and helped improve team-wide coding standards and best practices.

First-choice for implementing business critical features In my early days at BlackRock as a Mid-Level Developer, I primarily focused on feature implementation. I was entrusted to lead the frontend and backend development of a core trading feature for BlackRock’s proprietary cash management platform, CacheMatrix, and also led the development for a fund trading application within BlackRock Gateway, offered to institutional clients. Additionally, I dedicated a year to leading the rewrite of a legacy AngularJS application into a modern Angular framework, improving maintainability, performance, and developer productivity.

Awarded - Best Rookie of the Year (December 2012) I was hired fresh out of university in the Philippines by Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CACIB) in Singapore. As a Junior Developer, I primarily focused on feature implementation, proof of concepts, and performance enhancements. When the company decided to adopt JavaServer Faces (JSF) for a new application while continuing to use the Spring Framework, I was tasked with integrating the two technologies. Despite the technical challenges, I successfully implemented the solution and deployed it to production. My contributions were recognized with the Best Rookie of the Year award.

For some, programming is a difficult subject — for me, it just clicked As a college student, I developed a strong proficiency in software development and design systems. I actively participated in multiple Java programming competitions and represented my province in a national tournament, where I earned 2nd place among numerous provincial teams.
